Yes it’s expensive but this is the only a la carte experience (not part of a package) other people at quality Italian purchased a hotel package and I suppose if you want to be locked into your hotel then maybe some people will find that to be a better value. She had such a wonderful experience she cried. I bought this a year in advance as a gift for my mother as the parade was the top of her bucket list. There is no better value out there I researched many options and I don’t think people realize how “sketchy” nyc offerings can be. If you are looking to experience the parade and have access to a roped off viewing area and not wait hours in the cold and have a bathroom and table etc, this is it. We likely could’ve stayed near our hotel, The Plaza, and had a better viewing experience. We never once had an unobstructed view of the parade, very disappointing! This was a very expensive and bucket list experience for most people I’m sure, so we walked away regretting our purchase. There was a row of public viewers in front of us, along with a busy sidewalk of constant passersby and scaffolding. So, we opted for going out front of the restaurant which wasn’t better, just less crowded. The patio of this venue was tiny and once people went outside there was no opportunity to see past them and they didn’t leave their spots.
He quickly lost interest for that reason. He did not, however, enjoy the parade because we never had a clear view. Our son enjoyed the face painting and balloons. The food was not great either, nor was the service. The venue was oversold in our opinion, it was way too crowded.
